About the program

The program is designed to infuse qualified undergraduates with enthusiasm toward both graduate level education and a career in research. Participants will make important contributions to the Department's ongoing research efforts. 2021 REU program is scheduled from June 1st to August 6th, 2021.
The REU Program at the Computer Science Department, University of Houston, themes in Frontiers Data-Driven Computing, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, offers a 10-week, all expenses paid Research Experience for undergraduate students. This site offers students from geographically diverse institutions around the country access to vibrant scientific research projects and undergraduate mentorship. The students, working with UH CS faculty and peer students, learn state-of-the-art data science techniques and technologies including machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data, etc. and apply them to research focused on solving challenging problems in the society.

REU News

June 1st, 2021: The NSF UHCS REU program has officialy started. The students were able to meet their mentors during the online orientation!
